Tagbilaran City- The Department of Tourism (DOT) forges closer partnerships across government to create better, more seamless, and more meaningful travel experiences throughout the Philippines.
In their recent discussions with Governor Aris Aumentado of the Provincial Government of Bohol, SBMA Tourism Committee Chairman Raul Marcelo, and Secretary Dante โKlinkโ Ang II of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), we explored various modes of cooperation to position Subic and Bohol as even more attractive destinations for both domestic and international visitors. These efforts include tourism itinerary and product development, improving ease of entry and connectivity, and promoting more frictionless travel experiences for tourists.
“We also continue to encourage destinations to develop and promote their own unique tourism identitiesโ whether for adventure seekers, families, couples, cultural travelers, or slow travelersโ so that every destination can better connect with the evolving preferences of global travelers,” the DoT said.
The DOT likewise continues to work closely with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) to strengthen programs that connect Filipinos overseas with Philippine tourism opportunities, cultural engagement, and nation-building initiatives.
At the same time, the DOT continues to work closely with the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in supporting enterprise- and community-based initiatives that help foster peace, livelihood opportunities, and sustainable tourism development in communities affected by conflict.
The DOT also met with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to exchange best practices on procurement, budgeting, and strategic planning to help improve operational efficiency and ensure timely support for tourism initiatives nationwide.
Through stronger coordination and shared goals, we continue working toward a more connected, competitive, and inclusive Philippine tourism industry.
