MY PERSONAL POINT OF VIEW

By: Angel Eve Parohinog

Celebrating the World AIDS Day this December 1st, medical and private organizations pushed through virtual seminars to educate, enlighten and eradicate societal stigmas relating to HIV, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Disseminating factual, scientific information. Eliminating the whatnots, whatever’s the cause as we always say prevention is better than cure. Embracing the real life stories of real people that have and are suffering from it with the hope for a much more accepting society.

As an aspiring Doktora to be with God’s grace, my heart reaches out to our dear brothers and sisters who are medically diagnosed with such diseases and that are face with a saddening reality of getting misunderstood, teased and shooed out by a society that lacks adequate information and proper education regarding the matter.

One could be traditional but with an open mind and a heart spacious for acceptance. Let us all hold each other and be one; Empowering each and every individual. No matter who, what and history they have. Let love, understanding and empathy prevail over hate, fear and discrimination.
