EL SALVADOR CITY — Committed to professionalizing the region’s agricultural landscape, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) successfully conducted the second week of the Expanded Basic Agricultural Extension Course (EBAEC) from May 4 to May 6, 2026. This installment focused heavily on the Introduction to Agricultural Extension, providing participants with a comprehensive look at the methodologies required to transform rural communities.

The sessions delved into cultural, structural, and problem analysis, challenging the traditional view of the extension worker. Participants explored the vital role of an extensionist as more than just an information provider, but rather as a primary facilitator of change within the community. By gaining a deeper understanding of specific community conditions, the trainees learned how to tailor their approaches to deliver more effective and empathetic agricultural services.

Practical application remained a priority throughout the three-day session. Through intensive workshops, participants immediately translated theory into action by developing their own extension plans. These discussions and activities were guided by a seasoned team of resource persons from the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office X, featuring the expertise of Ms. Myrna, Ms. Lorelei, Ms. Aepril Maita Palo, and Mr. Bobby M. Pagusara.

Ultimately, the second week of training equipped the participants with the essential knowledge and strategies needed to design responsive and inclusive extension programs.

This progress marks a significant step toward the program’s conclusion, with the entire course scheduled to wrap up on June 22, 2026.
