Nabas, Aklan- Despite the advent of AI (Artificial Intelligence), George Tapan, the king of tourism photography in the Philippines, calls for a focus on reality-based travel photography.
Tapan was here at the view deck of PWEI upon the invitation as part of the campaign to document the biodiversity in the countryside. The Nabas Tourism Office, Aklan Press Club and the Boracay Island News Network help organize the one-day event.
Around 25 travel and lifestyle photographers, including campus journalists, participated in the workshop. Especially officers and members of the Aklan Photographic Society (APS) and the Aklan Kamera Organization (AKO).
“The AI technology that is now present in the new generation of cameras is being updated every two to three years, and it is expensive. ย It is still best to learn the basics and focus on reality-based photographs,” he said.
Nabas Mayor Maria Fe Lasaleta welcomed the participants and thanked the PWEI initiative to help promote Nabas tourism through photographs.
Kristine Sumugat of Musyon Production said she is thankful for all the lessons and wisdom she has learned from Tapan.
The Kalibo Cable TV Network covered the entire activity.
