
KALIBO, Aklan- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VI Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), led by the Assistant Regional Director for Operations (ARDO) Katherine Joy M. Lamprea, conducted a spot visit to the New Buswang SLP Association in Kalibo, Aklan.
Since November 2024, the association has been operating a laundry service that provides shared income to its members through a duty rotation. Through strong cooperation and active participation, the SLPA earned more than Php 154,000 in gross sales from December 2025 to January 11, 2026.
Assistant Regional Director for Operations Katherine Joy M. Lamprea commended the group’s unity and dedication, noting that the project shows how community effort can build sustainable livelihood.
The visit also provided members with the opportunity to share their experiences and concerns, enabling DSWD SLP Aklan Provincial Program Management Office to respond to community needs and improve support for livelihood projects./dswd6/Glory Mae Panase
