Family of 4Ps Parent Leader is the 2024 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya Winner in W.V

CARLES, Iloilo โ€“ Serving the community beyond the usual job of volunteers is what made the Pagsuguiron family of San Remegio, Antique the Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya Regional Champion.
4Ps grantee Florence Pagsuguiron has been a Parent Leader for almost a decade. Aside from being a PL, she managed her time by volunteering as an Alternative Learning System (ALS) teacher, Barangay Health Worker (BHW); KALAHI CIDSS Barangay Sub-Project Monitoring Committee (BSPMC); Womenโ€™s Civil Society Organization; Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP); Parents-Teachers Association of Calag-itan Central School; and San Remigio Producerโ€™s Cooperative.
Her husband John, who owns a haircut shop and vulcanizing, helps her with all the errands same with their children who are also volunteers of Sangguniang Kabataan and Acolytes at Children of Mary in their barangay.
On Wednesday, the couple John and Florence together with their sons personally received their cash prize and a plaque during the Awarding Ceremony at the SM City Iloilo. A total of Php15,000 cash prize was given to them at the regional level while another Php10,000 cash incentive from the national.
As a regional winner, five members of the Pagsuguiron family will be joining the National Family Week on October 27-31, 2024 in Manila.
As the family winner, part of their roles will serve as family ambassadors of the 4Ps, champion the program’s advocacies like investing in the health and education of children; and promote gender and development. In addition, they will act as resource persons in Family Development Sessions (FDS) and any related activity where they can share their knowledge and learning experiences; support the program’s media initiatives through accommodating media interviews; and allow the use of their photos and videos.
Meanwhile, the 1st runner-up in the said search is the Togle family of San Carlos, Negros Occidental followed by the De Pedro family of Altavas, Aklan. Other regional finalists are the Deocera family from Dumarao, Capiz; the Pano family of La Paz, Iloilo City and the Tamonan family of Bago City in Negros Occidental POO2.
