Kalibo Celebrates Recognition as Most Business-Friendly First Class Town for 2024

KALIBO, Aklan- In a significant milestone for local govrnance, the local government of Kalibo has been awarded the Special Citation for the Most Business-Friendly First Class Municipality in the country for 2024.  The honor was bestowed during the prestigious 50th Philippine Business Conference and Expo, held on October 22, 2024, at the  Marriot Hotel in Pasay City.

The award was accepted on behalf of Mayor Juris Sucro by Vice Mayor Cynthia dela Cruz and the Sanguniang bayan (SB) Atty. Christine dela Cruz.

This acknowledgement is not only a personal accolade for the Mayor but a recognition of the collaborative efforts of the entire municipal government team. Key departments, including the Treasury,  Business and Licensing Office (BLO), and the Investment Promotions Group, have played vital roles in this achievement.

KALIBO’s strategic foocus on creating a business-friendly environment has significantly contributed to its recognition. Through initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth- such as promoting loal tourism and industries like pina weaving- the municipality has successfully attracted both local and international investors.

PCCI President Engr. Loyd Macahilig highlighted the importance of this recognition, emphasizing that it reflects the hardworking spirit and commitment of the Kalibo LGU toward improving services for its local  businesses. The collaboration and support from various departments and stakeholders have solidified KALIB’O’s status as a prime investment destination.
