
KALIBO, Aklan- Akeanon beauty titlist Ms Kathleen Paton gets support from her ‘kasimanwa’ Lesley Mobo, a world renowned fashion designer.
Incidentally, both Mobo and Paton trace their home in Nabas, Aklan. Mobo in his facebook post said that he is supporting Paton in her quest to win an international pageant. Paton is currently in Egypt as a Philippine contender for the Miss Eco International Pageant. In Mobo’s facebook post,
Paton is seen wearing silver MOBO paillette dress with flocking technique. In another photo, Paton is also wearing a red MOBO red paillette dress. In 2017, Paton from the town of Nabas, Aklan was crowned as Miss Teen International in the pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand.
Among Mobo’s accomplishments includes his being named as the ‘Who’s Who’ in fashion in 2014 alongside notable brands such as Giorgio Armani and Coco Channel.
In 2015, one of the designer’s creation was used by celebrity actress Lea Seydoux in her James Bond film Spectre. Seydoux was seen wearing the design of Mobo in many of the movie’s official promotional platforms.
“I was surprised when I saw the print ads of the movie ‘Spectre’. James Bond female lead character Lea Seydoux is wearing my creation and this is printed worldwide,” Mobo said.
Mobo also gained respect after recently making headlines in the fashion magazines for featuring Indigenous People particularly ‘aetas’ as models of his creations from his hometown Nabas.
