KALIBO, Aklan- The organizers of the ‘Panay 1212’, a re-enactment of the arrival of the ten Bornean datus, are now 100 percent ready for their two-hour musical-dance show performance.

Arthur B. Peracullo, the writer and director of the show, said he has prepared surprises for the audience, ensuring that the show is not only an audiovisual performance but also an experience as well. The show will start tonight at around 7:00 p.m. at Magsaysay Park as part of the highlight of this year’s Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival.

The re-enactment as a tradition has disappeared for some time during the ati-atihan revelry.

“I am thankful to Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro for his support for the arts and culture,” he said.

Perracullo was known in Kalibo to be behind the emotional drama depicting the 19 martyrs celebration. From the emotional drama, he has taken the challenge to present the Panay 1212 as a celebration kind of show.

The show is attended by hundreds of students from different campuses in Kalibo in support of Kalibo culture and the arts. The stage-musical play starred Sean Michael Ventura as Datu Puti, Trisha Ileto as Pinangpangan, Hannah June Oliva as Queen Manwantiwan, Gil Lachica as King Marikudo, and the talented students from RSHS for Region VI, GCT, ASU, and NVC.
