MWP-WV to create a foundation that will help Akeanons

KALIBO, Aklan- The organizer of the Miss World Philippines-Western Visayas (MUPH-WV) is currently preparing the necessary papers to make the regional pageant a foundation.

Mary Jane Valbuena-Mclelland, the franchise holder of the MUP-WV, said that the foundation is meant to help communities in Western Visayas, especially the Akeanons. Valbuena was a former beauty queen of Kalibo.

Her daughter, Frances Beatriz McLelland, was crowned as Ms Eco Teen 2022 in Egypt.

The young McLelland is currently serving as the finance director of MUPH-Western Visayas.

“As much as I want to. I hope there will be more beauties joining the pageant next year. As a Kalibonhon, I am willing to help Akeanon girls fulfill their dreams of winning pageants not only locally but also internationally,” she told the Boracay Island News Network.

The winners of the recent pageant held on January 6, 2024, in Iloilo City include Arrieana Beron of Iloilo as the MUPH-WV queen; Marianel Tan was named the first princess; Dilma Amanda Perra as the second princess; Marriam Lara Ashraf Abd El Hamid; fourth was Kara Athena De Leon; and Claricel Heart as the fifth princess.

The pageant started only last year. They will be competing in different national pageants this year.

Dianne Angelie Indelible of Banga, Aklan, was included among the top ten finalists.
