MANILA — The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Aklan received the Most Outstanding Local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Tourism Advocacy Award during the 52nd Philippine Business Conference and Expo, held October 13–14, 2026, at the Manila Hotel.

PCCI Aklan President Ramel Buncalan accepted the award from Philippine Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte and PCCI National President Ferdinand “Perry” A. Ferrer. Conference chairman Arturo “Butch” Guerrero led the event, which gathered more than 1,000 business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers under the theme “Raising the Bar: Empowering Business for a Resilient Future.”

Founded in 1999 by local businessmen, PCCI Aklan represents the province’s business community and advocates entrepreneurship, investment, employment, and policies that support economic growth.

Tourism is a major driver of Aklan’s economy, with Boracay Island as its internationally recognized destination. PCCI Aklan also promotes tourism beyond Boracay by supporting countryside communities, small enterprises, farmers, transport operators, restaurants, and local producers. Its advocacy includes improved infrastructure and transportation connectivity, tourism diversification, and stronger public-private cooperation.

The PCCI Western Visayas Regional Chamber congratulated PCCI Aklan for its tourism advocacy and contribution to regional business development. The award recognizes the collective efforts of Aklan’s entrepreneurs and business leaders to promote the province as a competitive destination for tourism and investment.

PCCI Aklan encourages local entrepreneurs, professionals, and business establishments to join the chamber and participate in its programs, consultations, and advocacy initiatives.

Membership enables businesses to strengthen their collective voice, build networks, discover opportunities, and help shape Aklan’s economic future. A stronger chamber means a stronger business community and a more prosperous Aklan for everyone.
