
Tainan, Taiwan- The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI-Boracay) Strengthens Global Tourism Presence at the 2025 Tainan International Travel Fair
Boracay Island, Philippines – The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and IndustryโBoracay (PCCI-Boracay) expanded its international visibility as it joined the 2025 Tainan International Travel Fair held from November 21 to 24, 2025 at the ICC Tainan in Taiwan.
The chamber participated as part of the official Aklan delegation invited by the Provincial Government under Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores. PCCI-Boracay was represented by Executive Assistant Cristian B. Gelito, in coordination with the Chamber Board.
The Aklan delegation included:

Showcasing Boracay to Taiwanโs Growing Travel Market
PCCI-Boracay featured the islandโs signature hospitality and world-class offerings through member brochures, marketing materials, and an engaging Audio-Visual Presentation highlighting leading resorts, tourism services, and business opportunities in Boracay and Aklan.
The booth consistently drew interest, accommodating a steady flow of visitors throughout the event. Support also came from partners such as Mr. Simon Tsai of the Tainan Association of Travel Agents, who closely coordinated with the delegation onsite.
Visitor turnout insights:
- Day 1: Approx. 1,000 visitors โ primarily senior couples and senior travel groups
- Days 2โ3 (Weekend): Approx. 4,000 visitors โ young professionals, big families, and travel enthusiasts
- Day 4: Local residents and community members from nearby districts
The strong engagement reflects Tainanโs increasing appetite for international leisure travel, particularly toward destinations like Boracay.

Strategic Engagements and Tourism Partnerships
Prior to the expo, the delegation met with MECO Taiwan Tourism Attachรฉ Ms. Chriselle Yambao, who emphasized the importance of sustained Philippine representation and ongoing efforts to pursue enhanced direct flight connectivity to Boracay and other key destinations.
During the fair, the City Government of Tainan, led by Mayor Huang Wei-Che and Director General Su En En, welcomed the Philippine delegation at an official dinner, affirming mutual interest in fostering long-term tourism collaboration.
A Significant Step in Elevating Boracayโs International Reach
PCCI-Boracayโs participation reinforced the chamberโs ongoing commitment to promoting Boracayโs tourism and business sector on the global stage. Interest from Taiwanese travelers was notably strong, signaling opportunities for new partnerships, curated travel packages, and expanded market linkages.
This initiative also supports the broader efforts of the Province of Aklan and the Municipality of Malay to strengthen global positioning and diversify international tourism relationships.
