
Kalibo, Aklan – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan is currently intensifying its efforts for the acceptance of the National ID as a valid proof of identity in all transactions both in public and private offices.
As part of this initiative, the provincial office distributes the National ID stickers and leaflets to relying parties in the province of Aklan. Relying parties refers to local and national government offices, schools, private establishments, banks and money remittance centers
that utilizes the national ID as a valid proof of identity of an individual.
The sticker bears the notice that the national ID in various formats like in card, paper and digital are accepted as proof of identity in transacting business in the particular establishment or office.
As of 16 January 2025, a total of 138 National ID stickers and 488 leaflets have been distributed to local and national offices, schools, banks, and money remittance centers which indicate that they honor these forms of identification to verify the identity of an
individual.

National ID sticker is posted at the door of a remittance center informing their clients that it is accepted in transacting business with them.
“By posting these stickers to conspicuous place of the office building, we could enhance awareness about the validity and importance of the national ID,” said Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist.
Meanwhile, PSA Aklan continuous to conduct information awareness activities, such as posting social media cards on Facebook page, radio guesting and other Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activity, to inform the public about the national ID and its uses.
The National ID, in any of its formats, simplifies transactions with government and private institutions by facilitating easier identity verification and authentication. These three formats of the National ID can be verified throughcan be verified through the “National ID Check” by visiting https://everify.gov.ph/check.
