KALIBO, Aklan- The so-called ‘Triple J’ tandem which was created as a propaganda in the recent presidential and local elections is now continuing to make waves in the political landscapes of Aklan.
The triple J is composed of Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores, Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro and New Washington Mayor Jessica Panambo. All of them were first-termers as the local chief executives.
Miraflores at the first month of his power, he was already nominated as the vice chairman for Visayas of the League of Provinces of the Philippines. He also introduced his banner program, Digital 2024, which aims to digitize all government transactions in the coming months.
The Digital 2024 program is considered historic in the province.
For his part, Kalibo Mayor Sucro also wowed residents by giving his first month’s salary as starting funds for the opening salvo of the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival in October.
Sucro also distributed hundreds of school bags and supplies to poor children using his personal funds.
New Washington Panambo, meanwhile, also used her first month’s salary to purchase traffic vehicles to ensure the safety of all New Washington residents. Panambo said she will also soon launch her ‘Magical New Washington’ program by turning around the economic state of her town, returning to the town’s glorious era.
Earlier, Second District Congressman Teodorico Haresco said he believes the idealism and enthusiasm of the Triple J in their public service will shun away the corruption style of governance.
