What is wrong with Omicron?

Our country, the Philippines, had the taste of slight freedom and air from the COVID-19 Pandemic. Filipinos felt the calmness of everything and everyone. Establishments and businesses were granted the permission to cater a larger number of guests or consumers. Things seem to be going smoothly.

 

Then, here comes the new COVID-19 variants rattling the prematurely found peace by the world. The Omicron variant, first discovered by a South African scientist and another newly discovered SARS-CoV-2 variant, first identified at Southern France.

 

December 15, 2021. The Philippines detected it’s first two cases of the Omicron variant from travelers that came from Japan and Nigeria. Now, different areas in our country have reported having COVID-19 cases, specifically with the Omicron variant.

 

This newly identified variant, the Omicron is a highly contagious kind of virus. Infecting more individuals. Disturbing our way of living. Disrupting the flow of society. Claiming lives. With this, we all must act as one, with unity and compassion for each and everyone. Be responsible. Avoid doing unnecessary action. Don’t just think about your own self. Think of others too. Wear your mask. Always have alcohol or sanitizers with you. Get vaccinated.
