85 cruise passengers enjoyed immersive, authentic cultural exploration in Digyo Island

Digyo Island, Leyte- Luxury liner the Swan Hellenic SH Minerva dropped anchor at Digyo Island, Leyte on Wednesday for a glimpse of the local culture and heritage.

A total of 85 guests were welcomed by some immersive activities from curated displays that featured banig weaving, traditional net making, dried and salted fish preparation, tuba making and tasting, and a live demonstration of coconut sap harvesting, along with other leisure activities around the island.

The island’s rich gastronomy also took guests to beachside feast featuring local delicacies, fresh fruits, grilled seafood, and refreshments.

Passengers and crew described the visit as one of the highlights of their cruise journey that gave them some of the most authentic experience and hands-on learning opportunities with the local community.
