Dr. Pauleen Sazon Installed as New Soroptimist International Foundation of Kalibo President

KALIBO, Aklan — Dr. Pauleen Sazon has been installed as the new biennium president of the Soroptimist International Foundation of Kalibo, vowing to strengthen programs that empower women and girls, particularly those involved in the agricultural sector.
Sazon formally assumed the presidency during the installation ceremony held on August 16, 2026, at the Marzon Convention Center in Kalibo, Aklan.
Christine Piad, the governor-elect, served as the installation officer during the ceremony.
The Soroptimist International Foundation of Kalibo is now marking its 43rd year of service, continuing its advocacy of empowering women and girls and supporting initiatives that contribute to community development.
Under Sazon’s leadership, she mentiomed her commitment to give particular attention to women and girls in the agricultural sector.

Her administration seeks to promote opportunities that can help improve their livelihood, skills, economic participation and overall well-being.
The initiative recognizes the significant role of women in agriculture, from farming and food production to managing household livelihoods and participating in agricultural enterprises.
The installation ceremony also featured the special participation of Gabrielle Calizo-Quimpo, former president of the Soroptimist organization and former congresswoman of Aklan.
Calizo-Quimpo’s participation highlighted the continuing involvement of past leaders in the organization’s mission and its commitment to sustaining programs that benefit women and girls in Aklan.
Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through advocacy, empowerment and community action. Through its local organization in Kalibo, the movement has maintained a long-standing presence in the province.
As the Soroptimist International Foundation of Kalibo enters another biennium under Sazon’s leadership, the organization is expected to strengthen its community programs and partnerships, with agriculture and women’s empowerment among the key areas of focus.
After 43 years of service, the organization continues to build on its legacy of helping women and girls while responding to emerging needs in the community.
