DoT Welcomes Riyadh Air’s Maiden Direct Flight to Manila

The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomes Riyadh Air’s inaugural direct service from Riyadh (RUH) to Manila (MNL) on Wednesday (Sept. 9). It is seen to further strengthen air connectivity and economic and tourism ties between the Philippines and Saudi Arabia.

The new service will operate daily using 290-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, providing more convenient and accessible travel options for tourists, business travelers, and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) alike.

The maiden flight arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at 3:55 PM with 43 passengers onboard. Meanwhile, its return flight to Riyadh carried around 205 passengers.

Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebu Pacific Air, and Saudi Arabian Airlines are also currently operating direct flights from Saudi Arabia to the Philippines.

As of September 20, the Philippines has welcomed 19,011 arrivals from Saudi Arabia.
