​Business Group Presents 10-Point Wishlist for Boracay

​BORACAY ISLAND — The Boracay Foundation Incorporated (BFI) presented its 10-point wishlist during the first-quarter meeting of the Boracay-Caticlan Development Council (BCDC).

​Cedric Sazon, BFI President, stated that the wishlist aims to enhance the island’s tourism infrastructure and business climate. The council includes representatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU), the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-Boracay, among others.

​The BFI 10-Point Wishlist:

-​Fee Rationalization: The rationalization and harmonization of all tourism-related fees.
-​Airport Connectivity: Strengthening airport connectivity and improving passenger flow.
​-Event Policy: Establishment of a clear and consistent beachfront event policy.
-​Standardized Addressing: Implementation of an island-wide street naming and addressing system.
-​Infrastructure Maintenance: Improvements in basic infrastructure, including road cleanliness, sidewalk repainting, street lighting, and drainage.
-​Strategic Partnerships: Performance-based partnerships with airlines, digital platforms, and international markets.
-​Beach Upkeep: Procurement of modern beach-cleaning equipment.
​-Port Modernization: Modernization of the port system, improved crowd management, and the implementation of digital ticketing solutions.
-​Public Sanitation: Establishment of clean, accessible, and well-maintained public toilet facilities aligned with world-class standards.
​-Administrative Efficiency: Creation of a “One-Stop Shop” for permits and licensing, and a fully integrated solid waste management system.

​”BFI expresses its appreciation to the Council for recognizing these priority recommendations, several of which are already in progress and supported by allocated funding,” Sazon said.
