DOST-WV Invites Boracay-made E-Trike to Regional S&T Week

KALIBO, Aklan — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Western Visayas has invited MF Boracay Motors OPC to showcase its original Boracay-made electric tricycle (e-trike) during the 2026 Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Week (RSTW) on October 1–3 in Kalibo, Aklan.
In a letter dated September 29, 2026, DOST Western Visayas Regional Director Rowen R. Gelonga invited MF Boracay Motors President Fernando Evangelio Delos Reyes Jr. to participate as an exhibitor under the Environmental Management Category of the regional celebration.
The invitation forms part of DOST Western Visayas’ effort to showcase technologies that support the development of smart and sustainable communities.
The agency said the RSTW celebration will carry the national theme, “Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” with a focus on “Science, Technology, and Digital Innovation: Driving Food Security, Sustainable Energy, and National Resilience.”
DOST said the event will highlight the role of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in addressing development challenges, strengthening food and energy security, enhancing community resilience, and promoting a more sustainable and prosperous future.
The inclusion of the Boracay-made e-trike in the exhibition will provide an opportunity to highlight a locally developed transport technology as part of efforts toward sustainable mobility and environmentally responsible communities.
DOST Western Visayas expressed hope that MF Boracay Motors would join the regional event and help promote smart and sustainable solutions in Western Visayas.
The RSTW is expected to bring together science and technology stakeholders, innovators, government agencies, academe, businesses and communities in showcasing technologies and innovations addressing local and regional needs.
