E-trikes Patrol for Boracay PNP Turned Over

BORACAY Island, Malay Aklan- The Malay PNP received 4 (four) E-Trikes from Philippine National Police National Headquarters (NHQ) under the leadership of CPNP PGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN JR.,

Tuesday, (May 2) the Philippine National Police turned over and dedicated the 4 Brandnew E-Trikes to Malay PNP and was attended by the former Chief PNP POLICE GENERAL RODOLFO S AZURIN JR., and the former Director for Comptrollership POLICE MAJOR GENERAL JESUS D CAMBAY JR., held at Malay Municipal Police Station Headquarters, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan.

Also in attendance were PBGEN LEO M FRANCISCO, PRO6 Regional Director; PCOL CRISALEO R TOLENTINO, Aklan Provincial Director; MAYOR FLORIBAR S BAUTISTA; Radm. Leonard Tirol, Hon. Hector Casidsid, PB of Bgy. Yapak; Mr. Russell Cruz of Boracay Water Sports Association; Mr. Dindo Salazar of BFI; Pastor Jimmy Medina from PNP Interfaith and the other commissioned officers of PRO6 and Malay PNP.

To recall, PGEN AZURIN JR provided the first 2 E-Trikes last year and he has seen the need for additional e-trikes to be used to increase police presence in Boracay Island which is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

In the welcome remarks given by Malay Chief of Police LTCOL DON DICKSIE L DE DIOS, he expressed his appreciation to the Philippine National Police (PNP) National Headquarters (NHQ) and especially to Chief PNP Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr.

He said the new vehicles are a big boost to their morale as some of their mobility assets are already old and dilapidated.

“We are thankful to our CPNP PGEN AZURIN JR, for the additional 4-Etrikes. They will boost the capabilities of Malay PNP and improve the mobility of our personnel to immediately respond to calls for help and assistance and to ensure a strengthened mobile patrol in the Island of Boracay,” PLTCOL DE DIOS said.

Funded by the Philippine National Police, the E-Trikes for Malay PNP are part of the PNP modernization program.
