CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro โ€” Good Morning OrMin (GMOR), the flagship morning newscast of 96.9 Radyo Natin Calapan, earned national recognition after winning Best Newscast Provincial at the 29th Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Golden Dove Awards held September 30 at the Aliw Theater, CCP Complex in Pasay City.

Produced in Oriental Mindoro, GMOR competed against newscasts from established provincial radio organizations, including Brigada Balita Alas 7 of DYAC 90.7 Cebu City, Rise Against Ecological Threats of DXIX 729 Cagayan de Oro City, and Bombo News and Views of DYMN 837 Bombo Radyo Iloilo.

The Golden Dove Awards are among the Philippine broadcast industryโ€™s established recognition programs, honoring outstanding radio and television stations, programs and personalities for excellence in broadcasting. For the 29th edition, entries were based on material aired from January 1 to December 31, 2025.

GMOR has been airing since 2018 and is regarded as the longest-running daily newscast in Oriental Mindoro. It airs from 10 to 11 a.m. and is carried across three Radyo Natin stations in the province: 96.9 Radyo Natin Calapan, 105.3 Radyo Natin Pinamalayan and 103.7 Radyo Natin Bongabong.

The program is anchored on rotation by Radyo Natin Calapan/Pinamalayan/Bongabong Station Manager Glady Mabini, Program Director Adonis Rene Soratorio and News Director Darwin Dico.

While primarily a newscast, GMOR also features specialized community segments on education, agriculture, environment, health, livelihood, travel, entertainment and other issues affecting residents of Oriental Mindoro.

Its reporters and stringers include Marlon Palermo, Jerry Alcayde, JJ Sugay and Ace Sapit. Specialized segments are handled by Mhiss Eym High for Radyo Edukado, Denzjhade Opis for Usapang Agri Tayo, Dominic Semilla for Showbiz Chika, Elijah Soratorio for Byahe Na sa OrMin, GM for Trabaho Tips and Ms. Yvonne for EcoKwentuhan.

Krystal Kyle Mabini handles the programโ€™s social media presence, while its technical team includes Marlon Palermo, Herbert Mabini and Danred Concepcion.

The Golden Dove adds to a growing list of recognitions for the Oriental Mindoro newscast. GMOR was named Best News Program for three consecutive years, from 2023 to 2025, at the MBC Media Group Radyo Natin Network Excellence Awards, and was also recognized as Best News Program at the 2025 Mindoro Communicators Guild Awards.

Radyo Natin is the nationwide FM network of MBC Media Group, with more than 100 stations operating in different parts of the Philippines. The network publicly celebrated the Calapan stationโ€™s Golden Dove victory following the awards.

The trophy was received on behalf of GMOR by RN Manila Program Personnel Faith Salaver and Fatima Eltayeb.

For Mabini, herself a practicing broadcast journalist in addition to managing Radyo Natinโ€™s three Oriental Mindoro stations, the recognition is ultimately about the collective work behind every broadcast.

โ€œDifferent roles, different strengths, but one Good Morning OrMin,โ€ she said in a tribute to the team.

โ€œThis Golden Dove has every one of your fingerprints on it.โ€

For a community newscast that began in one province eight years ago, the national recognition carries a simple message, Mabini added:

โ€œYou donโ€™t have to be the biggest to make an impact. You just have to be faithful with what God has entrusted to you.โ€
