Kalibo LGU has launched modern traffic light system

KALIBO, Aklan- The local government of Kalibo has officially launched Saturday afternoon its modern traffic management  system  to ensure safety of both motorists and pedestrians this holy week.

Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro said the project is supported by Senator Francis Tolentino through his Traffic Management Mentorship Assistance Program, the Land Transportation Office-Kalibo, the Department of Transportation he Municipal Kalibo Police Station and the LGU.

“The program is not just about installing traffic signals. It is about creating a safer environment for our community. Effective traffic management is essential for reducing accidents, improving mobility , and enhancing overall quality of life.We are now poised to implement innovative strategies that will help streamline traffic flow and promote responsible driving,”  Sucro said.

It was learned that the new traffic light opened at the crossing of Osmena Avenue and Barangay Tigayon has eight cameras and sensors monitoring the volumes of traffic coming to and from Kalibo.
