MS Norwegian Spirit Makes Maiden Call in Boracay Island

Boracay Islandโ€“ The world-renowned Boracay Island proudly welcomed MS Norwegian Spirit, operated by Norwegian Cruise Line, on its historic first visit to the Philippines. Arriving from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the cruise ship brought 1,948 passengers and 890 crew members, marking a significant milestone for Philippine tourism.
In a unique Aklanon tradition, the vibrant Ati-Atihan dancers greeted passengers and crew with lively performances, offering a warm and culturally rich welcome. This grand gesture not only highlighted the islandโ€™s rich heritage but also left a lasting impression on its international guests.
Visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the regionโ€™s culture and natural beauty through curated activities. Many explored the Motag Living Museum in mainland Malay, Aklan, where they experienced traditional Filipino rural life. Others spent the day at Boracayโ€™s iconic White Beach, enjoying its pristine sands and crystal-clear waters.
As the sun sets on this memorable day, MS Norwegian Spirit will set sail at 6:00 PM, continuing its journey to the breathtaking island of Coron, Palawan. The cruise will conclude its Philippine itinerary with a final stop in Manila, further showcasing the countryโ€™s stunning destinations to the world.
