Numancia LGU express dismay over reenacted budget

NUMANCIA, Aklan- The local government of Numancia has expressed disappointments over the decision of the Sanguniang Bayan for the re-enacted budget for this year.

The disappointment was visible in the social media posts wherein several officials of Numancia manifested their grief over the decision. A re-enacted budget meant that whatever budget allocations are made in 2023 will be the same as this year. This also means that the majority of the priority programs for this year are shelves.

“When ambition outweighs compassion, the people lose,” said Numancia Mayor Jeserel Templonuevo in his cryptic post to the social media.

Among those affected is the supposed 40th celebration of the 40th Numancia pageant this May 2024, for which Templonuevo has planned it as the grandest so far.

“I regret to inform you that the LGU’s planned sports and other activities related to the 2024 Municipal Fiesta have also been deferred.We sincerely apologize for this decision. Rest assured, we will strive to improve and offer even more when we return with these activities as a community,” Templonuevo added.

The town of Numancia, a fourth-class municipality, is in the Western District of the province.
