KALIBO, Aklan. An outstanding legal advocate throws her hat in public service.

Atty. Christine Candelario-Dela Cruz said she filed her certificate of candidacy for councilor of Kalibo last October 8, 2021. She is one of the eight councilors vying for councilors under the ruling Tibyog party.

Dela Cruz was recently named the Most Outstanding Legal Aid lawyer during the 2021 Integrated Bar of the Philippines National Convention. She was cited for her unwavering legal support for the poor in the province of Aklan.

“While I am a lawyer, my heart does belong to the public service. My husband, Provincial Board Member Emmanuel Soviet Russia, is a two term councilor of Kalibo. I also have other relatives past and present that have served Kalibo in public service,” she said.

Soviet is also a three termer Provincial Board member.

She also wanted to help small entrepreneurs recover who are affected mainly by the COVID – 19 pandemic.
