MDRRMO Kalibo Ensures Safety and Order During Opening Salvo of Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2026
Kalibo, Aklan โ The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of LGU Kalibo, under the administration of Mayor Juris B. Sucro and the supervision of Mr. Terence June T. Toriano, LDRRMO III, successfully spearheaded the safety and emergency response operations for the first day of the Opening Salvo of Kalibo Ati-Atihan 2026 held at Pastrana Park, Poblacion Kalibo, Aklan.
The activity was carried out in close collaboration with the Kalibo Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Poblacion Emergency Response Team (PERT), Saint Gabriel EMS, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO Aklan), PNP Kalibo, Kalibo Auxiliary Police, and MDRRMO personnel.
With thousands of devotees and spectators gathering to celebrate the vibrant and historic Ati-Atihan Festival, strict measures on safety, peace, and order were implemented to ensure a smooth and incident-free celebration. Medical teams and emergency responders were strategically deployed across the venue, while law enforcement and auxiliary police maintained traffic control and crowd management.
The successful conduct of the Opening Salvo reflects the strong coordination among government agencies and response teams, highlighting the commitment of LGU Kalibo to protect the welfare of its constituents and visitors while keeping the spirit of the Ati-Atihan Festival alive.
