Kalibo, Aklan – May 20, 2026 The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan is currently conducting the 2025 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI) and the 2025 Survey on Tourism Establishments in the Philippines (STEP) from April 27 to July 31, 2026.

The ASPBI aims to gather essential data on employment, revenue, expenses, e-commerce transactions (sales and purchases), capital expenditures, and capacity utilization of the establishments.

On the otherhand, the STEP is designed to collect vital information on the characteristics, operations, and performance of tourism-related establishments.

Information gathered from this survey will be used to generate key indicators on tourism supply and capacity, including the inventory of facilities and services, employment, revenue, and other relevant metrics that support planning and policy formulation for both government and private sector stakeholders.

Four (4) hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) were deployed across the province to distribute and collect a total of 365 ASPBI and 126 STEP questionnaires from sample establishments.

To ensure accessibility and convenience, the ASPBI and STEP questionnaires are available in three formats: online version, editable PDF or excel file, and printed copies, which will be distributed and collected by SRs one week after receipt. This provides sample establishments with flexible options and make the data collection efficient and convenient.

“We strongly encourage all sample establishments to actively participate in this survey, by providing accurate and truthful information to support data-driven insights for business and industry,” said Engr. Antonet B. Catubuan, Chief Statistical Specialist.

The PSA assures responding business establishments that all information collected will be kept strictly confidential in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
