KALIBO, Aklan- As the halls of learning prepare for the new academic year this June 2026, Bread & Butter Bakeshop has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to the youth of Aklan. In a massive show of community solidarity, the company successfully spearheaded active participation in Brigada Eskwela 2026, extending its support to over eight schools across the province.
Living out its core corporate social responsibility (CSR) pillars— Education, Health, and the Environment – the team from Bread & Butter swapped their uniforms for cleaning supplies and paintbrushes, joining forces with local teachers, parents, and community volunteers to ensure that classrooms are safe, vibrant, and conducive to learning.
This year, Bread & Butter Bakeshop took pride in its collaboration with a diverse network of educational institutions, ensuring that students across different areas in Aklan are welcomed back to a refreshed environment. The schools supported include:
Tinigaw Elementary School, Ochando National High School, Gaudencio Vega National High School, Wadeford School Foundation, Mobo Elementary School, Estancia Elementary School, Linabuan Norte Elementary School, Kalibo Integrated School
A Mission Driven by Heart
The initiative was personally spearheaded by Ms. Josefina Lucille Dela Cruz-Tuano, Executive Vice President of Bread & Butter Bakeshop, who led employee volunteers in their mission to provide the province’s young learners with an inspiring start to the school year.
“Our children are the future of Aklan,” said Ms. Dela Cruz-Tuano. “By taking part in Brigada Eskwela, we aren’t just cleaning schools; we are building a foundation of support. Seeing our team work hand-in-hand with the community to nurture these learning spaces is a testament to our belief that we thrive only when our community thrives.”
Collaborative Success
The effort saw volunteers dedicating their time and resources to various school improvement projects, from minor repairs and repainting to beautifying school gardens. This hands-on involvement reflects Bread & Butter’s broader commitment to sustainability and holistic community development.
The company extends its heartfelt gratitude to the principals and faculty members of these institutions, as well as fellow volunteer organizations, for their warm welcome. The success of this endeavor was made possible through the spirit of Bayanihan, proving that when businesses and communities align for a common goal, the impact on our students is immeasurable.
Bread & Butter Bakeshop is a cornerstone of the Aklan community, dedicated to providing quality baked goods while fostering meaningful connections. Beyond the oven, the company is a passionate advocate for social responsibility, consistently investing in initiatives that promote education, health, and environmental consciousness.
