
KALIBO, Aklan- Youth representatives from across Aklan gathered on June 26, 2026, to strengthen their skills in crafting a Local Youth Development Plan (LYDP) during the Provincial Youth Development Council (PYDC) Workshop held at the Aklan Training Center.
Organized by the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO), the workshop aimed to equip youth leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to develop an evidence-based plan addressing the concerns of young people in the province.
Mrs. Juvi T. Trieste, coordinator of the 4-H Club, shared the organizationโs advocacy and contributions to youth empowerment, while Mrs. Maria Katrina Karla M. Meรฑez of the Provincial Health Office discussed key youth health concerns, including teenage pregnancy under the 10 Centers of Youth Participation (CYP).
PYDO officials led sessions on the LYDP crafting process. Ms. Janica Anne Dela Peรฑa, PYDO Officer, introduced the workshop objectives, while Ms. Shey Dela Cruz discussed the PYDPโLYDP Framework and guided participants in identifying major youth issues within their respective areas.
Participants also worked on validating identified concerns through data gathering and analysis. Ms. Michaella Ningal facilitated sessions on data needs identification, helping youth leaders determine the agencies, information, and resources needed to support their proposed actions.
The workshop ended with a Gallery Walk led by Mr. Cedrick Vallite Cusay, where participants reviewed and evaluated each groupโs outputs to identify common concerns and possible areas for collaboration.
The PYDC Workshop strengthened the capacity of Aklanโs youth leaders to create responsive and data-driven plans that address the needs of their communities.
