Aklan’s 1st District gets ₱1.75B, 2nd District ₱1.13B in proposed infrastructure budget

KALIBO, Aklan- Aklan’s first and second congressional districts are allocated a combined ₱2.88 billion in proposed infrastructure funding under House Bill No. 10858, according to a ranking of legislative districts based on infrastructure budget allocations.
The proposed allocation places the 1st District of Aklan at Rank 146, with a total of approximately ₱1.75 billion for 89 projects, while the 2nd District ranks 192, with approximately ₱1.13 billion for 74 projects.
The first district, represented by Rep. Jesus R. Marquez, is allocated ₱543.1 million for DPWH engineering office projects, ₱1.18 billion for DPWH Central Office projects, and ₱30 million for Department of Agriculture farm-to-market roads.
Meanwhile, the second district, represented by Rep. Florencio T. Miraflores, has ₱512.1 million for DPWH engineering office projects, ₱570.2 million for DPWH Central Office projects, ₱30 million for farm-to-market roads, and ₱15 million for Department of Health health facilities.
The figures cover five infrastructure categories: DPWH engineering office, DPWH Central Office, DA farm-to-market roads, DOH health facilities, and National Irrigation Administration projects. The ranking indicates the combined proposed allocation across these categories.
The document gathered by the Boracay Island News Network emphasizes that the figures are proposals and are not yet final. It also cautions that the location of a project does not necessarily identify its proponent.
