Kalibonhon bags gold in SEAG

A Kalibonhon has won the very first ever gold for the Philippines in the 31st Southeast Asian Games being held in Hanoi, Vietnam, Wednesday morning, May 11, 2022.
 
PhilSilat athlete Mary Francine Padios took the gold in the Seni Tunggal Event(solo artistic female) of Pencak Silat against Indonesia’s Puspa Arum Sari, the 2019 SEA games Gold Medalist.
 
Padios ousted the reigning champion with an immaculate score of 9.960 points to Puspa Arum’s 9.945. PSC Commissioner Mon Fernandez had the honor to award her with the medal
 
Padios is a resident of Barangay Old Buswang, Kalibo
 
 Acting Presidential Spokesperson Sec. Martin M. Andanar conveyed Malacanang’s congratulations to Padios after her incredible feat, praising her, As well as wishing all the other Filipino athletes good luck in all upcoming events.
