Lite Ferries Launches Brand-New World Class Roto Ferry for the Batangas-Caticlan Route

Malay, Aklan- Lite Shipping Corporation, operating under the brand name Lite Ferries, “Ang Barkong Bol-anon,” continues to expand its fleet with the acquisition of another world-class, brand-new Ro-Ro ferry. On August 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m, the company is set to officially launch its biggest and latest addition to its fleet, M/V Lite Ferry Twenty.
The launch of M/V Lite Ferry Twenty marks another milestone in the company’s continuing fleet modernization program and demonstrates its dedication to enhancing inter-island connectivity, supporting tourism, facilitating trade, and promoting economic growth in the regions it serves.
The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) has granted Pioneering Status to M/V Lite Ferry Twenty for the Batangas City–Caticlan, Aklan route and vice versa, recognizing the vessel’s introduction of an upgraded and innovative shipping service along one of the country’s key passenger and cargo corridors.
The Blessing and Inauguration Ceremony will be held onboard the vessel at the Port of Caticlan, Aklan, on August 7, 2026. The event is expected to be attended by officials and representatives from the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), local government officials led by Congressman. Florencio T. Miraflores and Governor Jose Enrique M. Miraflores, and other key stakeholders in the maritime transport sector.
Built in China and completed in January 2026, M/V Lite Ferry Twenty is a state-of-the-art coastwise Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) ferry measuring 90 meters in length, with a 20-meter breadth, 5-meter depth, and a Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) of 3,923 tons.
Designed to meet international standards of safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort, the vessel is classed by RINA of Italy, one of the world’s leading ship classification societies. The vessel can accommodate up to 578 passengers in various accommodation categories and transport 30 ten-wheeler trucks and 4 four-wheeler passenger vehicles per voyage, making it an important link in the movement of people and goods between Luzon and Western Visayas.
M/V Lite Ferry Twenty features spacious passenger areas, wider passageways, improved safety systems, and comfortable standard and tourist-class accommodations that exceed the minimum standards prescribed by MARINA.
The vessel sails from Caticlan, Aklan to Batangas City at 6:00 PM every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with an additional Sundays departure at 9:00 AM. From Batangas City to Caticlan, Aklan, departures are scheduled at 6:00 PM every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and at 12:00 Midnight every Sundays.
