Megaworld launches Mindful Travel, coinciding with COP 25

Boracay Island – The Megaworld Hotels and Resorts at Boracay Newcoast officially launched the  Mindful Travel Experience on Friday, November 21.
The event coincides with the culmination of the Conference of the Parties 25 (COP). The COP held November 10-21 at Belem,  Brazil, was organized under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
In Boracay, the MHR holds a sampaguita planting activity and the launch of the Mindful Travel Experience. The launch was held at the soon-to-be-open Chancellor Boracay held at the newcoast.
Among those who joined the launch were Arturo Boncato Jr – Group General Manager:
Samantha Manuel – Group Director of Digital Marketing and Online Reputation; Cleofe Albiso – Managing Director; Maia Israel – Area General Manager – Boracay Newcoast Hotels; and Sonny Alvaro – Cluster General Manager, Belmont Hotel Manila and Boracay Newcoast Hotels.
Albiso said that Wellness Travel aimed for a sustainable wellness essential where eco-conscious amenities inspire purposeful stays,  mindful challenges with rewards, and community support in every stay.
In Boracay, the MHR has coordinated with the Department of Trade and Industry-Aklan has accredited 19 ati women here for the production of environmentally friendly nito products as souvenirs.
For his part, Boncato told the Manila Standard that while the launch of the Mindful Travel coincides with the COP 25, he welcomes any effort to sustain the environment.
“At the same time, we are confident that the ASEAN meetings in Boracay next year would be appreciated by the various government leaders, ” said Boncato.
The Department of Tourism has earlier announced that the Philippines will play host to a series of meetings in the ASEAN next year on tourism and hospitality.
