Kalibo, Aklan โ€” Aklan celebrates the appointment of Commodore Andro Val P. Abayon, recently promoted to Commodore this year, as the new Commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG)โ€”one of the most critical security posts in the country.

A member of PMA Class 1994, Commodore Abayon began his military career as security detail to Defense Secretary Gen. Fortunato Abat in 1998โ€“1999. He later served in the Intelligence Service of the AFP (ISAFP) until 2012, and went on to lead the Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) in Mindanao. He also headed the AFP Special Intelligence Training School and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval War College.

His appointment reflects strong confidence in his professionalism and leadership as he takes charge of safeguarding the President, First Family, and visiting heads of state.

A proud son of Kalibo, Commodore Abayonโ€™s rise is a source of honor and inspiration for Aklanons as he serves the nation at the highest level.
