KALIBO, Aklan- The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCPโ€™s) operations in Aklan remain normal despite widespread flooding and soil erosion experienced in the area.

Nevertheless, NGCP has implemented reinforcement measures along its Nabasโ€“Caticlan 69kV line, including the installation of additional guys and X-braces to further stabilize the structure. NGCP is also closely monitoring the temporary bypass structures near Caticlan Airport.

NGCP reiterates that the former AKELCO (Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc.) line, which previously failed while still under the cooperativeโ€™s operation, remains vulnerable until reconductoring works are fully completed. The lack of documented right of way and available spares from AKELCO also unnecessarily delayed the repair of the line. NGCP is now fast-tracking the procurement and permanent repair of the former AKELCO line.

Power transmission services in the area remain normal. Any power interruption is localized and is not due to disturbances in NGCP facilities.
