Slope protection project along Aklan West Road completed

Kalibo, Aklan- Travelers traversing the mountainous part of Aklan West Road in Barangay Libertad, Nabas will feel more at ease with the on-time completion of road slope protection rehabilitation.

Brought about by continuous rain and Typhoon Paeng in 2022, the road collapse caused bothersome journey to the travelers especially to the tourist going to the most dubbed famous Boracay Island.

“The Php 28.1 million project comprises the construction of 42.2 lineal meters long reinforced concrete slope protection as defense to possible road collapse during heavy downpour”, detailed District Engineer Gener J. Abergas.

Likewise, the project involves the provision of three units eco-friendly solar LED street lights for improved visibility and illumination to the drivers during night time.

DPWH remains steadfast to it mandate of responsiveness in terms of the safety of the public traversing along the national roads.(DPWH-Aklan)
