BORACAY Island, Malay Aklan- Through the helping hands of several South Korean groups and supporters, they were able to help some 730 Boracaynons through free dental services and the giving of school supplies to children here.
Soojin Kim, president of the Korean Residents Organization in Boracay Malay, Aklan (KROB), said that the outreach program was held at the Barangay Manocmanoc Plaza from February 29 to March 1, 2024.
The said activities were made possible through the efforts of the Lions Club International of Korea, the Korean community in Boracay, the Department of Health, the Bureau of Immigration-Aklan, the Bureau of Customs, Malay Mayor Frolibar Bautista, Saguniang Bayan of Malay, the Philippine Red Cross-Boracay, the Teeth Flex Boracay Clinic, Dr. Jerome and Southwest Travel and Tours.

“We helped some 430 Boracaynons through free dental services, and provided free school supplies to 300 students. Around P3.8 million was spent on the said three-day event,” she told the Boracay Island News Network (BINN).
20 KROB officers and members also supported the said outreach program.
“The primary objective of this mission is to provide free dental care and education to the local community, focusing on preventive care and the treatment of common dental ailments. Our team is equipped to offer services including dental check-ups, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and patient education on oral hygiene. This initiative is especially important considering the limited access to dental care in many parts of the island,” Soojin earlier stated.
