𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀

KALIBO, Aklan- The Department of Tourism Region VI, through its Tourism Industry Skills Program and in partnership with the Department of Transportation – Office for Transportation Security, successfully conducted the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training on May 20–21, 2026 at JRP Vanyard Hotel, Kalibo, Aklan.

Aklan Provincial Tourism Officer Ms. Roselle Q. Ruiz delivered the opening message, emphasizing the importance of service excellence and the vital role of airport frontline personnel in providing positive and meaningful experiences to travelers visiting the region.

A total of 55 participants from the Office for Transportation Security of Kalibo International Airport successfully completed the training aimed at strengthening the culture of excellence, professionalism, and warm Filipino hospitality in frontline tourism services.

Dr. Felix G. Delos Santos Jr. served as the Resource Speaker and shared valuable insights on service excellence, professionalism, and the significance of delivering genuine Filipino hospitality to travelers and guests.

As one of the major gateways of Western Visayas, Kalibo International Airport plays a vital role in creating positive first and last impressions among travelers visiting the region, especially tourists bound for Boracay Island and other destinations in Aklan. Through FBSE, airport frontline personnel are equipped with the knowledge, values, and service mindset necessary to deliver exceptional customer experiences that embody the Filipino brand of hospitality.

The training emphasized the importance of providing quality service anchored on malasakit, respect, efficiency, and professionalism, recognizing that airport personnel serve as ambassadors of the country to both domestic and international visitors.

The Department of Tourism continues to strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders in the tourism and transportation sectors in promoting world-class Filipino hospitality and enhancing the overall tourist experience in the country’s gateways and destinations.
