A total of 14 out of 17 Barangays in Malay have retained their status as Drug Cleared after the R

egional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC) has verified the absence of drug personalities in these villages.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency has issued certificates of no active drug personalities to barangays Argao, Balusbos, Cubay Sur, Naasug, Nabaoy, Napaan, Motag, and Sambiray.
While the 6 Anti-Drug Abuse Council of Barangays Cabulihan, Caticlan, Cubay Norte, Cogon, Dumlog, and Poblacion were required to apply for the retention of their status after a certain period and undergo another round of assessment and validation.
These barangays were confirmed as drug cleared from 2017 to October 5, 2020.
The Regional Oversight Committee of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program, convened morning of February 10, 2022 in Iloilo City and deliberated the concerned barangays who passed the validation to retain their drug-cleared status.
The activity was attended virtually by Hon. Frolibar Bautista, Acting Mun. Mayor, Plt.Col Don Dicksie L De Dios, Chief of Police, Mr. Mark Delos Reyes, MLGOO, Mr. Aron Sendai, Head Secretariat MADAC and PCpl Julie Melissa Tumaob, Focal Person BDCP.
Under the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation 4, the oversight committee confers the retention of drug-cleared status to a barangay “if there is no presence of active PWUDs (persons who use drugs), pushers, drug den maintainer, coddler, protector, financier, cultivator, manufacturer, and others, or relapse case.”
The committee, co-chaired by PDEA and the Department of the Interior and Local Government, includes the Department of Health and Philippine National Police.
In a report released by PDEA-6, Aklan with 100% cleared barangays ranks no. 1 among the other provinces in Western Visayas on the Barangay Drug Clearing Operation.
