KALIBO, Aklan- The Sangguniang Bayan of Kalibo approved a resolution on January 20, 2026, during its 29th Regular Session, expressing heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the uniformed personnel, emergency medical responders, interns, and volunteers who helped ensure the safety and orderly conduct of the Kalibo Señor Sto. Niño Ati-atihan Festival 2026.
Globally regarded as the “Mother of All Philippine Festivals,” the Ati-atihan draws thousands of devotees, tourists, and visitors to Kalibo each year. Behind the vibrant colors, music, and devotion lies the crucial work of individuals who stand on the frontlines and maintain peace and order, provide medical assistance, and respond to emergencies throughout the week-long celebration.
The resolution recognized the dedication, professionalism, and tireless service of law enforcement agencies, medical and disaster response teams, interns, and volunteers whose combined efforts safeguarded the welfare of both Aklanons and visiting guests, helping keep the festival peaceful, safe, and fun for everyone.

While not formally included in the resolution, Sangguniang Bayan Member Matt Aaron P. Guzman also conveyed his sincere appreciation to members of the media—print, broadcast, and digital—in a Facebook post, citing their invaluable contribution to the festival’s success. He noted that their commitment to timely information, fair and responsible reporting, and accurate storytelling helped strengthen public trust and reinforce Kalibo’s image as a safe, vibrant, and culturally rich destination.
Indeed, behind every successful Ati-atihan celebration is not only joyful revelry and deep devotion, but also the collective effort of those who work behind the scenes to ensure safety, clarity, and communication, keeping the true spirit of the festival alive and meaningful for all.
