Cong. Jojo Ang open to run in Aklan politics

KALIBO, Aklan- Uswag Ilongo Partylist Congressman James ‘Jojo’ Ang said he is open to running for a political seat in the province of Aklan if the local government leaders want him to do so.

In a media interview, Ang said that he could not yet decide at the moment as he has yet to officially receive an invitation from key provincial political leaders.

Lately, Ang is rumored to run for congressman in the first district of Aklan. Last year, Jess Marquez, the son of incumbent First Congressman Carlito Marquez, also expressed interest in running for the congressional seat.

The young Marquez has already affiliated himself with the Tibyog party. Ang, on the other hand, was a family friend of former Governor Florencio Miraflores.

Although an Ilongo has relatives in Kalibo, Aklan. Meanwhile, reports also indicate that Congressman Marquez is also being considered to run for mayor of Kalibo in the next election.
