KALIBO, AKLAN — Food lovers and local residents gathered in droves as the highly anticipated Kaean‑An sa Kalye 2026 officially kicked off along Martelino Street here.

Organized by the Municipality of (Bagong) Kalibo, the three‑day street food festival runs from June 21 to 23, 2026, transforming the busy thoroughfare into a vibrant, bustling culinary hub.

A Feast of Local Flavors

The event, held under the national tourism banner “Love the Philippines,” features an extensive lineup of local concessionaires showcasing the rich and diverse culinary heritage of the region. Colorful festive bunting hangs across the street, while rows of food stalls serve everything from traditional Filipino favorites to contemporary street‑food snacks.

Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista‑Sucro said a diverse selection of participating vendors includes:

Savory & Grilled Favorites: Pedro’s Grill & Restaurant, Cherry and Alex Lechon, Salido’s, Pizza Dos Kalibo, and M&R Sisig Point.

Sweet Treats & Pastries: Kimmie’s Cakes & Pastries, Meo Meo Ice Cream, Irene’s Delicacies, and D’ Happy Mango.

Refreshments & Coffee: 4K Koohlers, Latte / Mauro’s, Sandy’s / Luna Coffee, Booze Bar, and Jovana’s Shakeat.

Community Spirit on Display

The vibrant atmosphere, according to Sucro, reflected a massive turnout on opening day, with hundreds of visitors filling the street to sample the offerings. From smoking outdoor grills loaded with skewers to bright displays of mango drinks and local pastries, the festival provides a significant boost to local food businesses and micro‑entrepreneurs. Live music from a stage situated further down the street further elevated the celebratory mood.

The local tourism office invites everyone to experience the feast, which will continue welcoming visitors until Tuesday evening.
