The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), led by President and General Manager Wick Veloso, formally turned over a Php1 million sponsorship check to the Department of Education (DepEd) in support of the 2025 World Teachers’ Day Celebration. The event will be held on October 6 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, with the theme “Together for Teachers.”
The sponsorship was received by Schools Division Superintendent (NCR) Nanette Losaria on behalf of DepEd.
The financial grant will assist in mounting the culminating event, which will gather thousands of educators from across the country to pay tribute to their vital role in nation-building and youth development.
Through this support, teachers across the country will be honored with a fitting tribute that recognizes their dedication, sacrifices, and indispensable role in shaping the nation’s future. The celebration will also give educators the opportunity to access information and services from partner institutions, enjoy activities prepared for them, and be recognized for their invaluable contribution to nation-building.
As part of its sponsorship, GSIS will also put up two engagement booths at the venue where teachers can learn more about its programs, including the Lease with Option To Buy and other housing initiatives; GSIS Digi ID and GSIS Touch mobile app; Ginhawa Loan Bundle consisting of Ginhawa Flex, Lite and Max; and non-life insurance product.
In addition, GSIS will give away umbrellas, notebooks, bags, and other tokens to teachers as a gesture of appreciation.
“Teachers are the heart of our nation’s progress. By supporting this celebration, we honor their invaluable service and brings our programs closer to them,” said GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso.
This year’s P1 million sponsorship builds on GSIS’s P950,000 support to DepEd for last year’s World Teachers’ Day celebration, underscoring its sustained commitment to educators and the education sector.
