
Panglao, Bohol- Security Screening Officer (SSO) Gesalor Bulabos of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) demonstrated integrity and fidelity to duty by facilitating the recovery and return of a mobile phone, with an estimated market value ranging from Seventy-Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Pesos (₱79,990.00) to One Hundred Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Pesos (₱109,990.00), inadvertently left behind by a Korean national at the Bohol–Panglao International Airport (BPIA) on 09 February 2026. At the time of the incident, the passenger was scheduled to depart for Incheon, Republic of Korea, aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR472.
According to the official incident report, while SSO Bulabos was performing routine security screening procedures, she observed a mobile phone left unattended within the screening area. In accordance with established OTS Standard Operating Procedures for left-behind items, she immediately notified SSO Maria Rayjane Sanchez, the Shift-in-Charge, who subsequently coordinated with airport authorities to cause the issuance of a public announcement via the airport paging system for the purpose of locating the lawful owner of the said device.
Shortly thereafter, an airline representative, accompanied by the concerned passenger, proceeded to the security screening checkpoint to report the loss of a mobile phone. Upon completion of the requisite verification and identification process, the device was duly and properly returned to its rightful owner.
The passenger thereafter conveyed her appreciation and gratitude to SSO Bulabos and the OTS team at BPIA for their prompt, professional, and honest assistance.
