Malay candidates vow peaceful May polls

To achieve Secure, Accurate, Fair Election, the Malay Municipal Police Station under the leadership of PLTCOL DON DICKSIE L DE DIOS, Chief of Police in partnership with the Municipal Election Office headed by Ms. Liza S. Balgos, Election Officer III and the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish headed by Rev. Fr. Jose Relente, Parish Priest spearheaded the peace covenant signing for all candidates in the locality morning of February 8, 2022.
The activity was held at the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosaty Parish Church, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. It was also attended by Mr. Mark Delos Reyes, LGOO VI-DILG Malay, Maj. Bronu T. Hugo of the Philippine Army, Ms. Ophel Tabanera, GM of the Paradise Cable TV and the 2nd Aklan PMFC.
PLt.Col De Dios, in his speech said that the peace covenant symbolizes unity not only among the candidates but also among the different agencies involved especially in the security operations working together for SAFE and Fair Election for National and Local Elections on May 9, 2022.
โ€œThe Malay PNP on its part assures each and everyone here today that we will be color-blind or apolitical. We will treat each candidate without bias or prejudice, commitment po naming lahat sa inyo yan,โ€ he said.
Leading the participants are the two challengers of reelectionist Acting Mayor Hon. Frolibar S Bautista: Hon. Hector Casidsid, Punong Barangay of Barangay Yapak, Malay, Aklan and Ms. Marlyn G. Villaresis.
After taking their โ€œIntegrity Pledge,โ€ before Rev. Fr. Jose Relente, Parish Priest, the candidates joined the symbolic signing of the covenant, which contains the rules and laws pertinent to the Commission on Elections resolutions governing the conduct of clean, honest, accurate, meaningful, and peaceful elections.
