OPFM-Aklan Conducts Pilot Testing of BFP’s Fire Safety Inspection System

KALIBO, Aklan- The Office of the Fire Marshall in the province of Aklan is pleased to announce the conduct of the pilot testing for the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) Fire Safety Inspection System (FSIS) this coming November 19, 2024 , 8:00 o’clock in the morning at Hall I, Aklan Training Center, Old Buswang Kalibo, Aklan. This initiative falls in line with the mandates set forth by Republic Act 11032, otherwise known as Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government System Delivery Act of 2018, as well as Republic Act 9514, also known as Comprehensive Fire Code of the Philippines of 2008.

The implementation of BFP’s automated system aims to expediting the issuance of clearances and certificates while also securing the accuracy in the assessment and collection of appropriate fire code fees.

This pilot testing marks a crucial step towards modernizing the fire safety inspection. Through the utilization of the FSIS, BFP aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the evaluation of fire standards across various establishments in the province.

The successful implementation of this automated system not only benefits the government agencies involved but also promotes a safer environment for the residents and visitors of Aklan. By ensuring that businesses and establishments comply with fire safety regulations, the Province of Aklan is taking proactive measures to mitigate risks and enhanced overall public safety.
