
Manla- The Israeli embassy here has cited three reasons why a Filipino becomes a tourist in Israel.
Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines, Her Excellency Dana Kursh, said these reasonsย are faith, food, and friendship. Kursh made this statement during the opening program of the Travel Sale Expo, organized by the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA), held at SM Megamall on September 26.
“I urged Filipinos to come to Israel as tourists. There is no visa required,” she said.
It was gathered that the visa-free visa for Filipino tourists started in 1969 in recognitionย of the Asian nation’s diplomacy. A Philippine passport is the primary requirement for coming to Israel.The Philippines is theย only Roman Catholic countryย in Southeast Asia, whose faith originated in Jerusalem, under the state of Israel.
Reports coming from Israel’s tourism ministry said that in 2019, there were 34,000 Filipino tourists in Israel.
