The inaugural Southeast Asian Plus Youth Games aims to unlock grassroots athletesโ full potential all the way to the Olympic levelโtimely with the harmonization of the countryโs premier grassroots competitions,
Batang Pinoy and Palarong Pambansa, as well as the creation of the National Youth Training Pool.
Together with PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio, they formally signaled the countryโs start of hosting preparations, setting sights on successfully staging 20 sports across major venues including the
New Clark City Athletics Stadium, New Clark City Aquatics Center, the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, the SMX Convention Center Manila, and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, among others.
โItโs an excellent idea for the development of the countryโs grassroots. Mag-aalign ito sa Palarong Pambansa and Batang Pinoy. Itโs also a perfect event for what we have been promoting from the startโsports tourism,โ said Chairman Gregorio.
Scheduled from December 2-14, 2027, the tournament will bring together thousands of young SEA athletes, with the inclusion of 12 countries across West, Central, South, and East Asia. With the expected influx of visitors, the Philippines further strengthens its position as a regional hub for sports tourism while elevating the competitiveness of Filipino grassroots athletes.
