KALIBO, Aklan- The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Aklan Chapter (PCCI-Aklan) is leading the Nego Parada, a parade of floats of businesses, as part of the highlight of the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival 2024.
Engr. Lloyd Macahilig, president of the PCCI-Aklan, said that this after the Kalibo Ati-atihan Festival Board (KAFEB) has given the PCCI-Aklan the green light to organize the activity.
The Nego-Parada was successfully introduced by the PCCI-Aklan in January 2023, through the initiative of former PCCI-Aklan President Ramel Buncalan.
“We have accepted this challenge of the KAFEB to continue what has already been started and is now bigger and better,” Macahilig, owner of Hayahay Restaurant in New Washington, Aklan, said.
Earlier, Kalibo Mayor Juris Bautista-Sucro said that the theme of next year’s Kalibo Ati-atihan Festivity is ‘The Complete Philippine Experience.”
The annual revelry will start on January 3, 2024, and culminate on January 21. The Nego Parada will be staged on January 17.
The Nego Parada is aimed at showcasing the different commercial establishments in Aklan through a float street parade. Here, spectators could expect several commercial establishments to give out freebies during the event.
